We open our new season with a classic Quentin Collins five piece. Always popular, Quentin, born locally in Forest Gate, is
an outstanding trumpeter who graduated from the Guildhall School of
Music by winning the 'Best Finals' prize. Already with a wealth of
experience, he has worked with the likes of Fred Wesley, Gregory Porter, Jean Toussaint, Stan Tracey,
Norma Winstone, Roy Ayers, John Surman, Roy Hargrove, Tim Garland and
Ray Gelato. In 2007 Quentin released his debut solo album "If Not Now,
Then When?" on SunlightSquare Records to much critical acclaim. He is
now the regular trumpet player for the Kyle Eastwood band, with whom he
tours extensively. Quentin's most recent CD “Beauty in Quiet Places” where he
pairs with sax player Brandon Allen as QCBA, attracted rave reviews. "A
Trumpeter whose style is a sizzling update of the Morgan/Hubbard
approach" - MOJO.
