Kelvin Christiane is a saxophonist, flautist, clarinetist and composer who has been leading his own bands for the past fifteen years or more and has released a dozen CDs of his originals and standards. A graduate from the Leeds College of Music he has played with artists such as Bernard ‘Pretty’ Purdie, Jim Mullen, Gilad Atzmon, Alan Barnes, Don Weller, Bob Martin, Roland Perrins' Blue Planet Orchestra, Dave O'Higgins, Derek Nash, Steve Waterman, Peter King and John Etheridge. "Christiane is an excellent tenor saxophonist, with a warm broad tone and clean singing high notes which are highly emotive, and with sometimes a Trane cry in his sound” - Ian Carr.
